At the core of Daviti’s practice is a deep exploration of the nature and values of the modern human being. His paintings delve into the complexities of conscious development, charting the internal journey through stages of self-awareness, and examining the often conflicting relationship between one’s inner self and cultural or social identity.

With a refined visual language and philosophical depth, Daviti’s work invites viewers to reflect on the evolving condition of the human experience in a rapidly shifting world.

Daviti Nikolozishvili is a New York-based visual artist from Georgia, recognized for his distinctive approach to contemporary figurative realism. His work spans portraits, landscapes, and figurative compositions, yet remains fluid and unconstrained by any single genre.

In 2015, Daviti earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Tbilisi State University, where he later completed a master’s degree in 2017. His philosophical studies deeply shaped his artistic vision, setting him on the path toward a visual practice grounded in intellectual inquiry and self-reflection.

Between 2018 and 2022, Daviti was actively engaged in teaching in both private and public schools in Tbilisi. For him, pedagogy became a process of daily discovery—an extension of his creative exploration. During this time, he immersed himself in the study of classical and contemporary masters while refining his own practice through observation, experimentation, and participation in student and group exhibitions.

Since 2023, he has been pursuing an MFA in Painting at the New York Academy of Art, where he was awarded both the International Education Center Award (2023–2024) and the NYAA Merit Scholarship Award (2023–2024).

Daviti’s work is particularly concerned with the nature and values of modern human beings. Through his paintings, he explores the stages of consciousness, the internal conflicts between self and society, and the evolving relationship between personal identity and cultural context. His art offers a philosophical and emotional lens into the complexities of contemporary human experience.
