Daviti Nikolozishvili is the New York-based visual artist from Georgia who specializes in contemporary figurative realism. His work is distinguished by portraits, landscapes, and figurative compositions, although the forms of his depiction are not limited by any genre.
Daviti Nikolozishvili is particularly interested in the nature and values of modern human beings. In his work, he tries to visually depict the way of human conscious development, the stages of awareness and the internal conflict between his own self and his cultural and social identities.
In 2015 Daviti Nikolozishvili completed his studies at Tbilisi State University earning a bachelors degree, in philosophy. He went on to pursue a masters degree at the same university in 2017. The knowledge he acquired during this period shaped his vision and set him on the path to becoming an artist.
Since 2018 Nikolozishvili has been actively engaged in teaching in both private and public schools in Tbilisi. Pedagogical activity for him is connected with everyday discoveries. During this period, he worked, observed the surrounding reality, learnt the experience of the old painters, and spent time studying the works of modern and contemporary artists. In 2018-2022, he participated in both student and group exhibitions.
Since 2023, Daviti Nikolozishvili has been pursuing his studies at the New York Academy of Art for a master’s degree in painting. He has received the International Education Center Award 2023-2024 and has also been honored with the NYAA Merit Scholarship Award 2023-2024.
