Karo Atanassov is a Bulgarian-born American artist whose body of work seamlessly integrates ceramics and painting. His artistic exploration delves into themes where his paintings are sometimes strongly influenced by his ceramic creations, and vice versa.

Karo’s art has been exhibited and collected worldwide. Some of his exhibitions have attracted the attention of renowned artists, including Christo and Jeanne-Claude, who became close friends over the years.

Karo studied at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the Faculty of Ceramics, and at the Parsons School of Design in New York, USA, where he focused on Interior Design. Between 2000 and 2002, he taught ceramics in his studio in the Greenpoint area of New York City.

In addition to his work as a visual artist, Karo has also worked as a scenic artist in the film industry.
