Bronze Hand Sculptures – Folk Art Hitching Post Study (Convertible Mirror Frame)

Dimensions: H. 48 x W. 34 x D. 22 in

A pair of cast bronze hand sculptures inspired by a mid-19th century cast iron folk art hitching post from the southern United States. Strongly modeled with expressive anatomical detail, each hand reflects the character and weight of the original historic reference while functioning as a contemporary sculptural object.

Originally designed as structural supports for a grand full-length mirror, the hands can be configured together to form a striking mirror frame support system.

Please note: mirror is not included. The hand sculptures can be sold together as a pair or individually, depending on preference. When sold separately, each hand retains its sculptural integrity and can stand as a distinct object or be integrated into custom installations.

The patinated cast bronze surface enhances depth, texture, and presence, emphasizing the artisanal casting process and the folk art origins of the design.
